Planning Commission – Public Hearing

The Village of Middleville Planning Commission  

will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 7:00 pm,

or as soon thereafter as possible,

in the Council Chambers at the Middleville Village Hall at 100 East Main Street.

The purpose of the PUBLIC HEARING is to receive public comment and consider amendments to the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to sign regulations.

The Planning Commission will consider a proposed ordinance that would amend various provisions of Article II, Chapter 78 (Zoning) of the Village Code of Ordinances relating to signs. The proposed ordinance would:

• Amend Sections 78-626, 78-627(e), 78-627(h), 78-628, 78-635, 78-636(1), and 78-638;
• Add new Sections 78-639 (Signs in the Downtown Village District) and 78-640 (Signs in the Special Designation Commercial District);
• Update regulations governing temporary signs, feather flags, prohibited signs, changeable copy signs, and signs within the TI, Downtown Village (DV), and Special Designation Commercial (SD) zoning districts; and
• Make other related amendments to the Village’s sign regulations.
